St. Tropez invites artist Wael el Allouche (TN/NL) at Amsterdam CS for an open studio/exhibition, where the audience will get an insight into his thoughts, interests and working process.
El Allouche studied Conceptual Design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and Design by Data at École des Ponts in Paris. He works at the intersection of art, design, architecture and society. In his work, he examines the relationship between reality and abstractions such as models and algorithms. In this way, he translates phenomena and objects from his environment into digital data, which he then converts into physical objects with a self-built 3D printer.
In his temporary studio in Amsterdam CS (Amstelpassage 33B), El Allouche will take the tile floor as a starting point. What kind of art does that produce? The result will be exhibited at the end of the working period. In the meantime, everyone is welcome to come by for a look behind the scenes.
